Horrible developer Extortion (in this case withholding the grenadier unit until the game is reviewed) is never right. And conveniently the extortion message doesn't come up for a level or so, so you are probably past the return limit before you find out.

Good but Good game overall. Similar to command and conquer, but u take turns. I dont like that youcant destroy buildings. I also dont like the fact the only way to unlock a grenadier unit is to rate the game and only way to rate the game is by joining google plus.

Genuinely fun Everything a phone game should be: makes good use of touch screen, simple graphics for effective game play, lots of humour. The controls take a time to pick up but, after a baffling start, I cannot get enough of it.

Better than great... Easily the best game for both my phone and tablet. I thought it wouldn't scale for the A500, but it looks great. A definite buy!

Tough but fun I must not be cut out for the military life because these are some seriously difficult levels even on basic. That said, it's pretty addictive.

Good but.. For some reason it's a battery hog on my note 2. The phone warms up much quicker. Even quicker than when I'm playing online games on my phone. Disappointing.

Nothing compared to Advance Wars This game tries to be the love child of Advance Wars and Worms. Aesthetically it sucks; the UI is also an eye sore. The game isn't snappy and responsive because you have wait for every little lame animation to complete. It's nice that they included a fast-forward button for the AI movements though. Overall there's nothing compelling about this game at all. The only reason I bought it is because it's one of the only turn-and-tile-based games for android.

Think I've been spoiled... Played GBWG before this and things so far seem...unbalanced. Grumble one is that unit movement seems restricted. Two - artillery units do not do splash damage. Three - an unpromoted sniper should not be able to one-hit-kill a sniper that has been promoted twice. All these issues are not evident in GBWG and they make the levels of this game more of a slog than good, tactical fun. Would be great if fixed.

A very "Advanced" War game, indeed After owning this for almost a year, I finally started playing it, recently. I have to say, I am extremely pleased with the overall polish and detail put into this little game. It quickly calls to mind memories of playing Advance Wars DS on my DS Lite, way back when. Highly recommended if you dig on turn-based strategy games. Yep

A great lil war game Simple turn based strategy kind of like advanced wars but not with as many different units to choose from. Still worth the few dollars I paid to buy it.

So much fun in one little app... my search is finally over. Love this game, but the computer always has an advantage, like I will star with only an engineer and like 2 jeeps, they will start out with like 4 grunts, 2 engineers and the oil rigs closer to them with lots of ways to get there, bit I am stuck surrounded by lot's of impassable water. Other than that great little wargame!

Great game Awesome game. Online multiplayer, more maps and campaign missions would be great in future updates! Even without, I friggen love it!!!

pretty fun Its a good game runs smooth on my gs2. Turn based strategy war each move has animations so when alot of units are on screen it takes time for each side to complete a turn. I would recomend this.

Excellent game This game will definitely keep your attention and give you hours of great game time. If they was one criticism I would say it would have been nice to give a different voice to each individual unit person to one voice for infantry and one for snipers and so on.

Wife hates it! I spend more time playing GLWG than on more relationship, must be a good game because the wife is gorgeous.

awesome turn based love this! its what i been looikin for in a portable game. turn based strategy. and it does well with grid based movement as well. the sequel is actually a hundred percent better with improvements on what you can do and adding splash damage. highly recommend all the rubicon war games!

Yay, strategy on my phone! Gotta love cheesy, yet intricate turn-based strategy that you can take with you ... Sadly, it does drain my battery, but such is life.

Great game! Only a few bugs in skirmishes, but I can overlook those. Great time waster. Sometimes I waste too much time playing it!

Amazing Very good for a game on any system. But I am still considering whether the lack of traditional wargame rules like zone of control is good or bad. (,It seems good in this case)

Fun game. Great game for killing time. Only potentially negative aspects (depending on your taste and game play style) is that games can take quite a while and it's a battery hog. Make sure you have a charger handy.

Great Little Game!! Great Graphics and game play. Many platforms. I thought the name was a little presumptuous when I first saw it in the play store. However, after playing the game on both the Android and PC, I can honestly say that it lives up to its name. The graphics a colorful and funny. The game play is very good, and the story line is funny to boot.

Just a great litte war game I really enjoy this game. It's an absolutly great time waster, and is actually quite a thinky little game too. Well worth getting if you have an hour or twelve to kill.

Great game It is a great strategy game but gets boring after you complete both campains. They also should remove the hints it is a real game changer. Let you guys figure it out on your ovn I will get all out soon and I expect great things.

Fun - Impossible campaign though I enjoy the game, and I'm generally good at games, but this game is too hard. I can't beat the first level in the love campaign and its written off as easy. Might be an error? Its frustrating.

Smooth gameplay Nicely executed game. Controls take a bit getting used to, and double movement allowance after sniper fire interesting. More to it than meets the eye.

Takes a while to play good, addictive, and an annoying drift to zerizing gsins. Occasionally two units either enemy or friendly and enemy end up in the same square or jumping off cliffs

Nice and simple But the computer can be quite predictable. The bigger maps also take a long time to work through. I probably entertained myself for 100 hours, but didn't get pestered for money once. Great value.

Fun war game! Fits the description of it's name well. Kills the battery in my phone quickly and makes it heat up. Still a fun war game though!

Not bad ..... This game is obviously "Enemy has the ball with home court advantage" type of set-up, but worth the pocket change they are asking for a decent time consuming and use your head kind of game. 3 1/2 stars.

Addicting and fun If you're comparing it to your ps3 games, you probably won't be too impressed but for a phone game it is very well done. It's both challenging and doable, the only slight complaint I have is the time for the animations when you kill an enemy can't be shortened, but it's only a second or two anyway. Overall, excellent game!

Strange notion of "easy mode," as there's nothing "easy" about it. Easy mode should allow one to trounce the AI and learn the game, but "easy" here leaves the player fighting like mad for every hex. Too frustrating.

One of my favorites This game is awesome! I love completing the challenges, I love the maps.. definitely a very good time eater

Great. Really. No kidding -1 for begging for rating. Other than that its a great little wargame. You actually have to think though, so if you're an idiot that prefers games where you just tap things to get nothing you should GTFO.

Great Little Traffic Jam I'm giving this game four stars in spite of the fact that traffic jam management gets in the way of enjoyment sometimes. The game is still a lot of fun and well worth the price.

Good, except for battery Like the other game (Great Big War Game) it drains your battery pretty fast (faster than it can be recharged actually) but it is amazing and fun. I would totally recommend it to anyone

What a glorious war A great little game, reminds me of the advance wars series. Well worth the Pennies.

Super game. But ... Don't impose basic -- let the difficulty be free to choose right from the start. Super. Super game. But ... Don't impose basic -- let the difficulty be free to choose right from the start. Make the multiplayer faster and more dynamic.

The title says it all It is so much fun quite hard but so much fun! Only one thing make it so the battery don't go down so quick

Fun Game play is fun. Variety is good. Not too difficult yet keeps me occupied. Hours and hours of fun. PTZ doesn't work so smooth sometimes. Otherwise no problems.

Closest thing to a mobile advance wars I've played yet I only wish there was more of a story. Still, plenty of units to play with and a 2 player pass and play mode. A nice time waster for the price.

Cool game Very nice and clever game. I like it

Totally addictive Not sure I should be grateful to my son in law for introducing me to this game! Haven't watched any TV since it's download a week ago......

Something to pass the time Downloaded this a few years back and just downloaded this a few days ago and lets just say its certainly worth re-downloading the game again as it keeps me busy

Tons of fun This game is a lot of fun and will keep you entertained for hours on end. Easier on a tablet, but great on my GS3 Thanks to great graphics and being able to zoom. A couple of suggestions for the devs: save game backup/restore from sd (port btween tablet and phone) and an undo move option for shooting an enemy. I also bought the PC game (Great Big War Game) through Steam and its awesome too!

The best game on android This game is the best game on my phone and probably the best fame you can find on android. The animations are smooth, the dialogues are funny, and the gameplay is amazing! This game has kept me entertained for hours. I definately recommend you this game. The only thing is I wish you didnt have to 'pass and play' and just kinda play online. But its not that big of a deal. Anyways, it definately deserves a 5/5

Really fun, a must buy!!! I just recently was looking for different strategy game apps I could buy. This is the best one I could find so I took a risk and bought it. And let me tel, you I am glad I took that risk. It is an amazingly fun game and I just love it. You have to buy this. One of he best strategy games out there and notice how I didn't say apps. This is he of the best games and not just in the app category but games in general

Great graphics, great gameplay, great fun! In a word, excellent. Really well made, I love playing it, many many hours of downtime have been filled with this game. If I were to say one negative thing it would be related to how much battery the game guzzles, but overall that's minor thing. Definitely recommend to any strategy game fans out there!

Great game. Simple fun This is a great game. Simple to play but also challenging. Android lacks some serious stratedgy games but Great Little War Game fills the gap with distinction. Any experienced gamer will relate this game to advance wars from the GBA. Can be addictive but also easy casual fun to just play and stop at any timd. Very good game 5 stars

Good Game A very nice, turn based, strategy game. Easy to learn but difficult to master, 2 game modes & trying to better your score give it some replay value. Can be frustrating as most games start with the AI seriously outnumbering you & having a lot more resources. Also drains the battery very quickly on the Galaxy S2.

Great little war game The levels are a little long. I enjoy the graphics and sound effects. It is well out together but the levels are a little tight in the beginning. I didnt like how a tank can't destroy a grunt in one shot. I get its a game, but come on, it's a tank. I think there could of been a little more versatility applied to the units. I have do like the game but being a huge fan of Advance Wars this was a step down.

Excellent Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is an excellent platform to play this clever game. Got three so far and hope more will come. Maybe something about capturing enemy tanks and using it against them... just an idea. You can reward me later ;)

Great little strategy game I've played a couple different versions of these games and completed all difficulty levels. They're all very addictive and easy to play on the move. Don't require an Internet connection which is handy when you're on the tube or a flight. Getting a gold standard is very easy on some levels whereas it seems impossible on other levels (so I just settle for silver). If you like turn based strategy like Battle Isle or XCOM you'll probably love having this on your phone or tablet

A great little war game Needs a few tweaks here and there - but they're all minor. The game itself plays smoothly and is easy to get to grips with. The gameplay will get you hooked after a short time, only making you put it down when you need to charge your devices battery (or the Mrs asks you to do something). If you like turn-based strategy games, this is a good one to get :-D

Wargamer I like all sorts of war games, computer, board and card counters type. GLWG is a lovely little game that can be played for a lot of fun, not too taxing but still requires a bit of thought. Animations are good and reasonable A1. Suitable for ages 8 to 80.

Pretty good so far The game is good fun. Well rounded and I've not hit a single bug or closure yet. It's pretty tough getting gold cups on each mission, and this pressures you into rushing through each lvl. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

Fun, Turn-based Strategy This game has a fun style of graphics, and the gameplay so far has been varied enough and involved a good measure of strategy. I'll leave it to others to admonish the publisher for taking away the grenadier unit to make us rate the game. My only real complaint is that some of the interactions are a little touchy on my phone (Galaxy S5).

Addictive I am enjoying the game, and I expect that they will get more of my money for subsequent iterations. 4stars because the rating for grenadier thing is shady, and also because it takes some thought to figure out how to play... Recommend adding a more detailed tutorial for newbs.

Just okay. Units can not move past each other, so they get stuck. There is no indication wether a unit has moved or not without selecting it. There is no 'next unit' button. You can not see exactly how much health any of the units have left. There isn't much in the way of terrain advantages.

Took a bit to get used to... Good graphics, runs well, great concept. REALLY needs a tutorial, but controls/unit abilities can be figured out eventually. I didn't like it at first, but once I played for a while, it got better and better.Well done!

Excellent Excellent turn based strategy war game. I spent several hours completing the basic campaign, and I am looking forward to playing the game again in advanced mode. For those of you with long memories, the tone of the game reminded me a little of Canon Fodder - particularly the idiot General. Now can I have my grenadier please.

Great game! Takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do its a great turn-tile game for iOS. Some missions take a while too beat, mainly because I'm so conservative with my troops and care more about amount of troops lost then days passed. But great game!

Good but Great Big War Game is better It's a solid game but the sequel is more balanced. For instance, there is no splash damage from artillery units and the snipers are very expensive compared to grunts. You are usually better off just rushing with a bunch of cheap units.

OK, but... ...there's no tutorial explaining what all the little icons mean and the percentages seem to represent two different things. Contrary to what the devs have actually said in their forums, a tutorial or some kind of icon guide would be handy.

App is a lot of fun, engrossing Air, sea, land and mechanized units. Some complexity, with experience and terrain bonuses, but still easy to pick up. Games can last a while, or pretty quick depending on what you need. Would be even better if the AI were stronger. I haven't tried multiplayer.

Very entertaining As the name implies this is a great little war game. The turn based warfare is fast and full of action. The dialog is pretty funny. the only thing this game lacks is multi player. Please add multiplayer and It would be five stars every time.

Slick, Fun, Tongue-in-Cheek Humor Excellent price for the game, really glad it wasn't free-to-play, and even their advertising of other games is just a small button here, nothing intrusive. The little intro dialogue has a fun, ironic tone, the game difficulty has a nice ramp teaching you the units, so far the map variety seems be pretty varied and nice. Haven't tried the other modes since I jabent unlocked them yet, but I expect them to be just as well.

Best I've played The game is full of enough content to keep you going, and the controls are intuitive. Combined they make for a game I can't put down. Update: Unfortunately the developer has decided to extort users for reviews, rating dropped.

Minor interface quirks To view a unit's fire range you have to tap and hold over the unit. If you move your finger just a micro meter the range indicators turn off. This is Very annoying while playing in a moving vehicle. A minor mark off an otherwise great game.

Finally this kind of game on Android! I played the sequel first, which is better, but I knew I would enjoy this tremendously as well. I've been wanting anything Advanced Wars-ish or Final Fantasy Tactics-ish on Android forever. Keep making them! Maybe with different themes or time frames...

It really IS a great game! An addictive game. Urges a lot of cute extras, like the comments the troops make as they're deployed and the theatrical deaths. Packs a surprising amount of variety. WARNING - very difficult to put down.

Great game, although AI becomes predictable I found this to be a great strategy game, and particularly enjoyed the missions with the added challenge of finishing in an optimal number of moves. Unlike certain other reviewers, I found the lack of tutorial part of the fun (learning how best to take advantage of each unit). The skirmish mode mode was less fun once I developed a strategy that took advantage of the AI's lack of flexibility-- but I did play every map. With some tweaks to the AI this would be 5 stars, but still worth the .99!

Can't fault it Great little war game is a great little game. Loving a decent turn based game, and the graphics remind me a bit of cannon fodder. For £2 you can't go wrong. Will definitely buy big war game once I'm through all the levels on this one.

Beast I think these guys are under appreciated. The company who made this game and great big war game are awesome. The fact that you have to think to win a game. And the graphics are sweet. The story line is funny. Its like advance wars 3d, but for mobile, and tab. Everyone should buy this and great big war game.

Help! will change rating when it works Please, we got this game for the Nook, and it is taking 5 minutes for the helicopters to got across the screen, everything is moving very slow, can't even play the game. I haven't had this problem with other games, pls will it get fixed? If it doesn't work on the Nook, how do we get our $ back? We would love to play this, thanks!!!

Brilliant little game! This game has kept me up at night and made me late for work. That's a sign of a job well done! Love it on my Nexus 5 - plays great. Recently started using on Nexus 7!

Yea yea yea As tony the tjger would say ITS GREAT. Just compleated level 20 to win. This game took over a month to finish. I am at the age of 53, not a kid or a all day gamer. Just do it!

5/5 Well worth the money! Sony Ericsson Xperia Play The game is great, it's well worth the money! It's a fun war stratagey game that's turn based! It reminds me of a simplified version of Civilization, but mobile! Its not even that large of memory usage! I don't know if it supports the on-board controls the Xperia Play has, but it's perfect without them! The game even has some pretty funny humor slapped in too! 5/5 no doubt.

Rating glwg Keep saying its not that good ...yet this is the 5 time today ive picked it up! A tutorial would have been nice.
